This is a great case for protecting my zune. I have the 30 gig model, as it is made for, and it does a great job keeping it from becoming scratched or dinged. The clip doesnt get much use with me, but the arm band is very useful when I run and work out. My only complaint is that the case doesnt fit the zune perfectly, but I also have ocd and just a slight misalignment between the case and zune bugs me more than it should. It functions better than comparable cases out there, and I have yet to see my zune get a single scratch.
This is a good quality cover and arm band. There is a slight fitting issue. The cover sits kind of to the right, so I am always adjusting it. The buttons are covered by the cover but you can still easily hit the buttons. I have bought other Zune covers off the Internet, and this one has been the best yet.

This thing is AWESOME! My fiance helped me put it on but it was really easy. Some parts didnt lay down at first like around the lock button on top but they did smooth down a couple hours later. I had an air bubble or two and those also worked themselves out by the next day. You cant even tell I have it on there except that it has a tacky quality that allows me to keep ahold of it better when its out of a case. I also have a belkin sportband and I dont have any problems getting it in and out of there with this case on. Cant say there is anything I dont like, a great investment!
Ill be blunt: I thought this thing was horrible. First of all, correct installation is a nightmare — youll likely find it impossible to avoid getting fingerprints, lint and dust stuck between the plastic sheet and the Zune. Second, the provided method for installation is laughably bad. Its relatively easy to create packaging that makes applying something like this simple, with a peel on both sides (one to reveal the sticky side, and the other with a paper handle to peel away once its set onto the product).
This relies on a spray you apply to your fingers and the screen “guard” to prevent fingerprints, which is a messy and obnoxious way to operate. The plastic also doesnt look that nice, as I was expecting a harder (not necessarily thicker) material along the lines of some iPhone screen guards. This is a stretcy, soft plastic that is easily marred with fingerprints, oils and dust.
I ended up peeling it off and trashing it. I hated it. Maybe with more patience, youll have better luck… but Id recommend looking elsewhere for scratch protection.
Like everyone says, this is a good product. You just have to be patient with it, and be extra careful. You have to be in a lint free environment, or it will mess up your work. It took me a good 10-30 minutes or more installing this thing, making sure there are no lint, bubbles, and unsticking edges (which was a pain the butt). After installation, I let it sit for 24 hours, and the bubbles are gone, the edges are hardly on, and there are lint on them (I really need to be in a lint free environment – not gonna happen). I did not give it a five star due to installation time, the amount of work, and taking the lint off.

Design
The 80GB Zune cuts a much slimmer figure than its bricklike older brother. Measuring 4.3 inches high by 2.4 inches wide by 0.5 inch deep, Microsoft shaved some considerable bulk off the Zune’s thickness, while nearly tripling its capacity. Beyond its more pocket-worthy form, the two major improvements to the Zune’s hardware design are its screen and its navigation pad.
Features
We admit the first-generation Zune certainly wasn’t the coolest-looking MP3 player on the block, but its features were fairly advanced. With subscription music support, wide-screen video playback, Wi-Fi music sharing, high-quality photo viewer, RBDS-enabled FM radio, and composite video output, the original Zune looked like a serious iPod challenger on paper. The 80GB Zune maintains all of the original Zune’s compelling features and ups the ante with tightly integrated audio and video podcast support, as well as the unique ability to automatically sync content over a home wireless network.

Microsoft Zune HD: Can it defeat Apple IPod touch ?
The Zune HD is much slimmer than the current Zune 120 because it will use flash memory rather than a hard drive. This means the expected storage capacity will be 16 GB with a possible more expense model at 32 GB or discount option at 8 GB. The price range will depend on storage capacity, however there is some expectation that the Zune HD Price will be $250 for the base model.
The outer casing is a matte finished aluminum to prevent fingerprints, it can come in black or silver with a hint of gold. Each Zune HD supports a full WiFi web browser which is a new feature for the Zune brand. Zune HD reviews will have to note the specific features that Zune apart from the iPod touch such as the HD radio reception and HD video output at 720p resolution.
Question:
With these features, will Microsoft Zune HD have a product comparable to the Apple iPod Touch ? are these cool features and comparable operation enough for Microsoft to take a bite of Apple and gain market share??
Analysis:
Quite frankly, NO…
While the Zune appears to function as well as or better then an iPod touch, there are items beyond the product itself that make iPods so popular. Looking at the history of the iPod, it is iTunes that has provided most of the growth for the product. Being a part of the CE industry during the rise of the iPod, I have used players that have sounded better, functioned better and provided more pleasure then iPods themselves. However, it you look at the ease of use of the iPod with iTunes as the means to load content, it has a benefit to any other player.
One down side to the Zune HD is that it will not play games or run apps (at least in the first release), this is something that is making the iPod touch and iPhone so popular. Consumers are not really buying it cause it sounds or looks good, the fact that you use it for everything is one of the most appealing factors.
Over the years Apple iTunes and iPod have become the known name for portable players and downloading music. These Apple brands are used like Band Aid and Kleenex to refer to downloading and playback. Because of the popularity, there is an entire industry based on the iPod. Everything that you could ever want from a new blingy cover to a dock so that you can listen on a big system are available, there are even TVs with docs so that video can be watched at home. AV product manufacturers have spent years developing products to support iPod and it will be a long time before they start developing for the Zune. Additionally, consumers have spent years building libraries in iTunes, and I bet that the Zune will not sync or play that content…
Microsoft has a counter measure for iTunes with ZunePass, this is a monthly fee service that allows for downloading of content to the Zune. While this is something that is needed, Microsoft would have been better to stay out of that game and partner with an established service such as Rhapsody. At this point in the game Rhapsody continues to grow as the alternative to iTunes, and while I am sure that purchased music from Rhapsody can be used on the Zune, having the subscription content would be better.
The bottom line is that while the Zune may have some advantages in performance, it lacks the support that the iPod has. The lower cost for the Zune HD may steer new users in Microsoft direction, it will not bring old iPod users over. However, only time will tell, as stranger things in Consumer Electronics have happened.

If the huge library wasn’t enough, Xbox users will love the fact that you can connect your Xbox to your Zune and share all of your content with your Xbox. There is no need to have to create separate play lists for your Xbox as well as your Zune when they can both share the same one. This adds further connectivity to your arsenal of party tricks and hosting strategies. With the built in Xbox visualizations, just pop in your zune, and you are complete with, “hip”, from head to toe.
With this extended network, finding content for your new Zune will leave you searching and clicking for hours while you create the perfect play list. However, the only draw back to this is there are monthly fees which are incurred for use of Microsoft’s extended network. Though great selections to move your ear buds will be found, it will cost you on a monthly basis. There are programs out there that only require one payment for eternity without ever placing hidden charges on your plastic. These programs rival Microsoft’s distribution network and allow you the user to take full advantage of its results without having monthly fees. After using the Zune’s marketplace myself, I thought I would do some research and find the hottest programs that offered the most. I found them and discovered these to be at the utmost of their game.
