Audio out from tape player (or the earphone out) to the input on your sound card.
Set volume levels and record with any recording software. Be sure you are recording from the right device (input from sound card).

you need a tape player with an output jack, an audio input/soundcard on the computer, cables to connect the equipment and software to record the signal.
and a cd burner.
you need various things. I do this on a daily basis (music producer) there are many ways to achieve what you want.
the WORST WAY would be to simply go out and by a pin jack-one end goes into the mic in hole on your pc the other into the head phones jack on the recorder. then you’ll need software to record into-then simply convert it to wave (which ALL SOFTWARE WILL DO AS IT RECORDS) or mp3 then burn it.
problem with doing it this way is-you’ll get terrible sound quality-the noise from the comp will come through-that’s a no no and will annoy the hell out of you.
the other way would be if you had some sort of preamp-something to place between the recorder then INTO THE PC. this isn’t very much cheaper(and from the sounds of it you don’t care to take this long).
but the first one is the easiest and you can get the pin jack at any electronic’s store-starting radio shack (if you live here in the states)
its just a long cord and at each end it has 1 pin each end-the one’s that look like they plug into headphones. cost you about 3 bucks.
contact me if you have any questions.
You have a sound in or microphone input on your computer sound card where the input is. Some have optical inputs. You will need sound recording software that will enable you to record sound from the sound card which will record it in wav. format or mp3. There are also many other formats that you will be able to record in and will need to decide what you are going to use them for. You need a cd burner and have to decide if it will be a cd for audio, mp3, data etc. Minimum gadgets are a jack to run from the tape recorder to the sound card, recording software, a burner with burning software and knowledge as to what you are going to do in reference to the kind of cd you are going to burn.
use the stereo connection one side in to the headphone on the cassette player and other side in to the Line in on your sound card ( the symbol is the arrow in) and you need to use the sound editing programs or you can use the sound recorder on windows –programs/accessories/interment/sound recorder
you need to download daemon tools which will mount devices and then plug the machine and use daemon
